3 Reasons to Have a Mobile-Friendly Website

Whether we’re at home, work, on the bus, or in the movie theatre, one thing is constant - we’re always on our phones! We use our devices to check the time, check the weather, communicate with friends/family, and conduct online searches. As it relates to your business, this means that optimizing your website to ensure mobile users have the best experience is a must. With that being said, there are still a vast number of business websites that aren’t mobile-friendly or responsive, which could result in a major loss of business opportunities.

Here are three more reasons why  you should have a mobile-friendly website:

1. Positive User Experience

According to Google, 29% of mobile users will immediately switch to another site if your website doesn’t load quickly. When a visitor comes to your site, if it doesn’t load in a couple of seconds, or if it’s not what they expect, they will leave, and chances are, they’ll head straight to your competitors.

2. Mobile Generates Traffic

The future of search is mobile. Websites that aren’t user-friendly on mobile devices will eventually see their search rank decline. Think about it, the last time you did a search was probably on your mobile, wasn’t it? More and more users are abandoning their desktops and are using their mobile devices to carry out all their online activities. It’s quick, easy and convenient!

3. Reduces your Website’s Bounce Rate

Have you ever been to a website where you had to pinch and zoom or squint at illegible text? If so, chances are you didn’t stay too long on that website. The typical user doesn’t even take the time to do all of that - If they land on the page and it isn’t looking how it should, they’re gone. Websites that aren’t optimised professionally for mobile devices tend to result in extremely high bounce rates. Providing mobile visitors with a suitable and intuitive user experience will encourage them to stay on the site long enough to drive conversions.
